We collect information you give us when you:

• Use the LLC filing tool — your name, business name, physical and mailing addresses, registered agent information, governor/owner information, email address, payment information (processed by a third-party payment processor), and signature authorization
• Apply to the free website program — your name, business name, business details, contact information, and any materials you provide for the website
• Donate or sponsor — your name, contact information, organization (if applicable), payment information, and any message you include with your donation. Donations are processed through Givebutter, which handles donor management and communications on our behalf.
• Volunteer or partner with us — your name, contact information, skills, availability, and other relevant details

Information Collected Automatically

When you visit our website, we automatically collect certain technical information:

• IP address and approximate location derived from it
• Browser type, version, and device information
• Operating system
• Pages visited, links clicked, and time spent on pages

• Detect, prevent, and respond to fraud, abuse, or technical issues

4. LLC Filing Tool Data

The information you submit through our LLC filing tool deserves special mention because some of it becomes public record by law:

Information That Becomes Public

When we file your Certificate of Organization with the Idaho Secretary of State, the following becomes public record on the state's website, visible to anyone who searches:

• Your LLC name
• Principal office address
• Mailing address
• Registered agent name and address
• Governor names and addresses

This is a requirement of Idaho law, not our choice. If you wish to keep your home address off public records, you may elect our optional privacy address service and/or registered agent service during the filing process.

Information We Keep Private

• Your email address
• Your signature authorization and filing date
• Your payment information (which is handled by a third-party payment processor and not stored by us)
• Any internal notes or communications about your filing

How We Store This Data

We retain a copy of your filing information to provide ongoing service (registered agent forwarding, privacy address, annual report reminders) and for our records as the organizer of the filing. We store this information securely and limit access to staff who need it to deliver services to you.

5. How We Share Information

We do not sell your personal information. We share it only in the following circumstances:

With Service Providers

We share information with trusted third-party companies that help us operate our services:

• Cloudflare (website hosting, security, and analytics)
• Stripe (to process payments for LLC filing service fees and other transactions)
• Givebutter (to process donations, manage donor relationships, and send fundraising communications)
• East Idaho Media Co., our contracted production partner, for services such as video production and website development

With Government Agencies

When you use our LLC filing tool, we submit your information to the Idaho Secretary of State as part of your business formation filing. We may also share information with tax authorities or other government agencies when required by law.

For Legal Reasons

We may disclose information if we believe in good faith that it is necessary to:

• Comply with a law, regulation, subpoena, court order, or legal process
• Protect the safety, rights, or property of EICF, our users, or the public
• Investigate or prevent fraud, abuse, or illegal activity
• Enforce our Terms of Service

In Business Transfers

If EICF is involved in a merger, acquisition, or transfer of assets, your information may be transferred to the successor organization, subject to this Privacy Policy.

• Stripe — payment processing for service fees and transactions. We do not store your full credit card information on our servers (privacy policy)
• Givebutter — donation processing, donor management, fundraising, and email communication with donors and supporters (privacy policy)
• Google Fonts — typography delivery
• Idaho Secretary of State — the government agency that receives your LLC filing

When you click links to external websites (such as a sponsor's website or a partner organization), you leave our site and are subject to the privacy practices of those sites. We are not responsible for their privacy practices.

7. Cookies & Tracking

Our website uses minimal cookies. We use:

• Essential cookies that are necessary for the website to function (for example, to keep your LLC filing progress saved during a session)

We do not use analytics cookies — our analytics provider (Cloudflare Web Analytics) is a privacy-first service that does not use cookies or track you across sites. Third parties such as Stripe and Givebutter may set their own cookies when you interact with their payment or donation forms; these are governed by their privacy policies.

You can control cookies through your browser settings. Most browsers allow you to block or delete cookies. However, disabling cookies may affect how parts of our website function.

8. Analytics

We use Cloudflare Web Analytics to understand how our website is used. Cloudflare Web Analytics is a privacy-first analytics service that does not use cookies, does not track users across sites, and does not collect personal information that can identify individual visitors.

The information Cloudflare collects includes aggregate page views, referring sources, approximate geographic region (country/region level), device type, and browser. This data helps us improve the site. You can learn more at Cloudflare Web Analytics.

9. Data Security

We take reasonable steps to protect your information from unauthorized access, loss, or misuse. These include:

• HTTPS encryption on all pages
• Secure storage of sensitive information
• Limiting staff access to personal data on a need-to-know basis
• Using reputable third-party services with strong security practices
• Never storing full credit card numbers on our servers

LLC filing records are retained indefinitely to support ongoing services (registered agent, annual report reminders). Newsletter subscriber data is retained until you unsubscribe. Analytics data is retained for a limited period as set by our analytics provider.

Access and Correction

You can request a copy of the personal information we have about you, and you can ask us to correct inaccurate information. Contact us using the information at the bottom of this page.

Deletion

You can request that we delete your personal information. We will honor such requests except where we are required by law to retain information (for example, tax records for donations, or information tied to an active LLC filing that has been submitted to the state).

Opt Out of Marketing

You can unsubscribe from our newsletter at any time by clicking the unsubscribe link at the bottom of any email, or by contacting us directly. We will still send transactional messages related to services you've requested (for example, LLC filing status updates).

12. California Residents

If you are a California resident, you have additional rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA):

• The right to know what personal information we collect, use, disclose, and sell

Our services are not directed to children under the age of 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. For programs involving minors (such as youth entrepreneurship events, if offered), parental consent will be required before any personal information is collected.

14. International Visitors

Our services are primarily intended for residents of the United States, particularly East Idaho. If you are visiting from outside the United States, be aware that your information will be transferred to, stored, and processed in the United States, where data protection laws may differ from those in your country.

15. Do Not Track Signals

Some browsers offer a "Do Not Track" (DNT) signal. There is no industry consensus on how DNT signals should be interpreted, so our website does not currently respond to DNT signals. We treat all visitors consistent with this Privacy Policy.
